THREE King’s Ely Junior students won medals at regional and national Judo competitions.

Year 5 pupil Mienke Putter represented King’s Ely in a girls-only National Schools Judo Tournament in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on January 27th. Mienke won three out of the four contests she entered, resulting in her and the school winning a Bronze medal in the ‘less than 32kg category’.

On January 28th, Year 7 students Joseph Sibson and Lucas Hilcenko competed in the Eastern Area Low Grade Open Judo Tournament organised by the British Judo Association in Thetford, Norfolk. Joseph fought in three matches and won Bronze medals in the ‘over than 50kg category’ and ‘under 12 years old’ category. He also fought in three matches in the ‘over 12 years old category’ and won another Bronze medal.

Lucas competed in three fights and won a Silver medal in the ‘less than 42kg category’. Congratulations all!
