Eleven King’s Ely Sixth Form students have successfully completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Expedition this half term.

The intrepid group headed to Brecon Beacons National Park for their assessed expedition, where they battled challenging terrain and weather conditions.

Hayley Mortimer, our Deputy Head Co-Curriculum, said: “The students were split into two groups. Both groups demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the expedition.

“They showed fantastic navigational and decision-making skills. It was a pleasure to see such a committed group of pupils working together – a fantastic job by both the students and the staff who have trained them.”

Congratulations to the students: Robert Allan, Nia Baird, William Biggs, Elliot Bord, Benjamin Collier, Elliot Dickson, Freddie Hills, Gabriel James, Christopher James Trevochka, Alice Wallace and Emily Williams!

Thank you to Miss Mortimer and Tim Wyndham-Smith, our DofE Manager, for leading the trip, and Peter Wallis for driving everyone.
