KING’S Ely students are celebrating achieving some impressive music exam grades.

Twenty-four of King’s Ely’s young musicians sat Trinity College London music exams this month (May), twelve of whom achieved Distinctions and six of whom secured Merits.

At King’s Ely Junior, Distinctions were achieved by Hetty Guyer for Grade 3 singing, Alexander Clode for Grade 3 cello, Elizabeth Raynes for Grade 5 singing, Maxime Prince for Grade 5 cello, Anna Ost for Grade 7 cello and Lily McCallum (pictured) for Grade 8 cello.

At King’s Ely Senior, Distinctions were achieved by Jessica Harding for Grade 6 singing, Elizabeth Thomson for Grade 6 singing, Emily Anne Williams for Grade 8 singing and John Paul Gilby for Grade 8 singing.

Many King’s Ely students also sat Association Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams in the spring, the results of which have just been published. King’s Ely Senior students James Wilkinson and Thomas Scott (pictured) both achieved Distinctions; James for Grade 8 trombone and Thomas for ARSM diploma on piano.

Other pupils who gained distinctions are Boris Choi for Grade 4 trombone, Freddie Hills for Grade 5 guitar, Oscar Hills for Grade 5 trumpet, Olivia Jenkins for Grade 5 piano, Alice Fisher for Grade 7 singing, Isaac Fordham for Grade 7 Saxophone and Charlotte Ellis for Grade 7 flute.

Ten King’s Ely Junior pupils secured ABRSM Distinctions – Alexander Avogadri for Grade 1 guitar, Oliver Partridge for Grade 1 cello, Alastair Wright for Grade 1 cello, Quentin Mitchell for Grade 2 saxophone, Anna Ost for Grade 3 piano, Robert Reed for Grade 4 trumpet, Lizzie Kim for Grade 4 piano, Jason Kim for Grade 5 clarinet, Helen Li for Grade 5 flute and Sophie Hillier for Grade 7 flute.
