MEMBERS of the King’s Ely Equestrian Team had their first event of the season on November 24th – the National Schools Equestrian Association County Qualifiers at Forest Edge Arena in Norfolk.

Three members of the team – Adele Shaw, Ryan Shaw and Ryan De Sousa – were riding their horses for the first time at a track.

In the 95cm class, Ellie Grimsey rode a beautiful double clear round.

In the 105cm class, Ryan Shaw stole the show and won the entire class individually, which also helped the team of Ryan Shaw, Adele and Ellie gain a brilliant 4th place position.

As a result, both the team and Ryan as an individual qualified for the County Championships!

Fiona Shaw, joint manager of the school Equestrian Team, said: “It was certainly a very promising start to the season and, as usual, there was great camaraderie between the riders and parents!”
