A group of our GCSE Music students visited Ely College on October 14th to take part in an action-packed outreach event.

More than 200 GCSE and A-Level pupils from 10 different schools joined in on the fun with Eboracum Baroque – a group of young professional singers and instrumentalists who perform across the UK and Europe.

Eboracum Baroque specialise in the performance of Baroque music in a historically informed style and on period instruments. The ensemble are particularly renowned for their performances of 17th and 18th Century English music.

Helen Briggs, Head of Academic Music at King’s Ely Senior, said: “Many schools in the area attended this event and it was great for pupils to hear live performances of set works and also to learn more about period instruments. Throughout the day, pupils revised key content, refreshed their memory of key terms, and developed their understanding of this period in music. A great day was had by all.”

Thank you to Ely College and Eboracum Baroque for what was a brilliant event!
