A record number of King’s Ely students, families and staff members were involved in this year’s Baptism, Confirmation, Reception and First Communion Service!

Twelve members of our school community were baptised, sixteen were confirmed, and one student was received into the Church of England.

The candidates’ families and friends joined them for the service, which took place at Ely Cathedral and was led by Bishop Graham Kings, who is an Honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Ely. After the service, everyone was invited to come together in our Hayward Theatre for cake and refreshments!

In the lead up to the service, candidates participated in weekly workshops with our School Chaplain, Revd Dr Ros Lane. The group also attended a retreat at the Shrine of Mother Julian in Norwich, during which they learnt how to use the labyrinth as an aid to prayer, discovered more about what it means to make one’s communion, and had the promises connected to baptism and confirmation explained to them.

If you are a student, parent, member of staff, Old Elean or friend of the school and you are interested in being received, baptised and/or confirmed, please email: roslane@kingsely.org
