First Class Degree in English Philology and PGCE in Secondary Education.

Your current role at King’s Ely and how long you have been a member of staff here:

I am Head of MFL at King’s Ely and have been here for 10 years now!

What do you enjoy most about working here?

The sense of community among all types of staff and teaching my pupils everyday; what a privilege!

Hobbies/interests outside of school:

Sewing, reading and making very nice mojitos!

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A teacher – I always wanted to teach. In fact, I used to put all of my dollies in a row and I used to teach them to read!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

To make everyone happy and to bring high quality education to all children.

What was the last book you read?

‘La Sospecha De Sofía’ by Paloma Sanchez Garnica, which is a novel based in post war Spain and Europe.

What song are you most likely to sing at a karaoke?

‘Como Yo Te Amo’ by Raphael (Spanish 70’s).

What is your favourite film?

‘Life is Beautiful’ (I can’t stop crying!) and any Mamma Mia film for a good laugh and dance!

Do you have any phobias or fears?

Heights! I can’t stand going up to the top of the cathedral! My Year 9 students always laugh at me.

Name three things you would want with you if stranded on a desert island for a week:

A good book, a sewing machine and lots of material!
