Our newly-elected School Councillors at King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep came together for their first official meeting this week.

The twelve-strong team (ten of whom are pictured), met with Mrs Victoria Walker, who is Acremont Pre-Prep’s School Council Coordinator, in The Library to discuss what personality traits they think a good School Councillor might have, how they feel to have been elected by their peers, and what sort of initiatives and events they would like to work towards as a team throughout the Lent Term.

Our School Council Elections were held on Friday, January 26th and, as previously reported, we were delighted to welcome MP Lucy Frazer, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, and MP for South East Cambridgeshire, along to the event.

Before the voting, each of our Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 classes were given a presentation by the hopeful candidates, based on their prepared manifestoes. Congratulations to everyone who stood for election. As ever, there were so many fabulous pledges and ideas!

Our School Councillors for this term are:

Reception: Arabella C, Katherine P-T, Edward L, and Elizabeth O
Year 1: Felix F, Abigail J, Slanya P, and Fritha S
Year 2: Harry B, Sophie M, Vidia L, and Esther M

We look forward to hearing more about the children’s ideas and initiatives over the coming weeks!
