ENTOMOPHAGY – the technical term for eating insects – was the theme of a thought-provoking online talk delivered to some of our Year 7 pupils on January 27th.

The workshop was delivered by Mr Parkinson as part of a new, virtual enrichment programme for all King’s Ely Junior pupils organised by Miss Sudbury.

The series kicked off a fortnight ago with an entertaining history workshop led by Mr Lowery. On January 27th, Mr Parkinson explored the benefits of eating insects – something which billions of people already do across the world every day.

Miss Sudbury said: “Other sessions, including art and sociology, will be occurring later in the term. This is part of the continuing search to balance screen time against the development of other sorts of skills and experiences.

“If any students missed the workshop, they don’t need to worry! They can find the slides and resources on the ‘Extension and Enrichment’ pages on Firefly.”
