A GROUP of King’s Ely Junior pupils, including four Ely Cathedral choristers, used their pedal power to raise more than £1,000 for good causes.

Four members of Ely Cathedral Boys’ Choir – Thomas Perceval-Maxwell, James Barbrook, Max Black and Theo Almond – who are all pupils at King’s Ely Junior, cycled from King’s Lynn, Norfolk, to Ely, Cambridgeshire, on June 1st.

The intrepid four were joined by fellow King’s Ely Junior students Cecily Perceval-Maxwell, Theodora Spufford and Robert Banwell, and Max’s younger brother, Rowley, who is joining King’s Ely Junior in September.

It was an epic journey of approximately 60 kilometres to say the least, made more challenging by the hot weather, a few spills and a puncture – but they made it in good spirits. The team has so far raised more than £1,000 for the Cathedral Choir Tour Fund and Cancer Research UK, which is one of King’s Ely’s charities this year.
