CHILDREN as young as six were inspired by artists such as Matisse and Wayne Thiebaud during a series of Fine Art, Sculpture and Fashion workshops at King’s Ely Senior this week.

The workshops gave children in Acremont an opportunity to experience the wide range of art courses available in the Senior section of the school. All of the studios are fully equipped with a broad range of facilities and materials, enabling the pupils to produce high quality, creative outcomes, including t-shirt designs, gift boxes, puppets and a large scale collage.

Director of Art at King’s Ely Senior, Alison Rhodes, commented: “This was a wonderful opportunity for our Acremont pupils to explore the areas of Fashion, Textiles and Fine Art alongside the use of sculptural effects. It was a very rewarding experience for all concerned, with children describing the experience as “super”, “excellent” and “brilliant”.”
