Chicks bring Science learning to life at King's Ely Acremont Nursery and Pre-Prep

Our King's Ely Acremont Nursery and Pre-Prep pupils have been in their element watching and learning about the development of their Easter chicks!
Children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 have each had a brood of baby chicks to monitor, look after, and befriend, which they have done so with such enthusiasm and care.
Four incubators filled with fertile chicken eggs were delivered to Acremont House by The Happy Chick Company on March 16th. A couple of days later, the children could hear cheeping coming from their classrooms, and discovered that the chicks were pipping their way out of the shells!
Once the chicks had fully dried and 'fluffed up', they were moved to the brooder boxes for pupils to be able to start admiring them, caring for them, and learning all about their development.
The chicks were with us until March 26th, which provided the children with so many opportunities to observe, research, and record as their fluffy friends grew!
