KING’S Ely Acremont Pre-Prep and Nursery held their own version of a ‘Palm Sunday Procession’ on March 29th.

Pupils and staff from Nursery 2 through to Year 2 came together in Acremont’s Garden before school started for the unique event. Not only did the children welcome our School Chaplain, Revd Dr Ros Lane, and Principal of King’s Ely, John Attwater, along to the procession, but a gorgeous Miniature Shetland Pony called Carrot also clip-clopped her way in on the action.

Every pupil and staff member received a palm cross, which Dr Lane then blessed, before Carrot and her owner, Imo Dawson, who is a King’s parent, led everyone around the Acremont Garden.

Everyone held their crosses and sang ‘Hosanna, Hosanna, He is Coming, He is King’ as they followed Carrot and re-enacted Jesus’ last visit to Jerusalem.

As you can see, Carrot was quite content to be fussed and fed some titbits after the service!
