OUR Year 10 Textile Design students visited the Museum of Zoology, Cambridge and Cambridge University Botanic Garden on September 20th.

The excursion proved to be a fantastic opportunity for our young designers to collect research for their sketchbook ideas, as well as fashion design work exploring the use of colour, shape, form and methods of application.

Alison Rhodes, Director of Art at King’s Ely Senior, said: “We will be connecting this research with the work of other artists and designers. This excursion supported how project work can be based on first hand observation and how it can improve the use of analytical skills as the students’ sketchbook ideas progress.

“The group were a delight to work with and we very much look forward to seeing how their project ideas progress.”
