BEN Barrett, our Breakfast and Pastry Chef, won the King’s Ely Catering Team Pumpkin Carving Competition.

Around a dozen members of the team got into the Halloween spirit by carving pumpkins, all of which came from our fruit and vegetable suppliers, Accent Fresh, who are based in nearby Downham Market.

Alison Rhodes, Director of Art at King’s Ely Senior, and a group of her Textiles students were invited over to the Monastic Barn to judge the team’s wonderful creations, which resulted in a tie.

The vote was then opened up to boarding students during evening tea, and Ben’s creation was voted as their favourite.

Well done to Ben, whose winning prize was a bottle of his favourite tipple!
