REBECCA Lees (16) and Lily McConkey (18) were among the guests of honour at the launch of the school art competition exhibition at the Babylon Gallery in Ely after winning top prizes for their photography and fashion design entries.

Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire (ADeC) once again teamed up with the Hereward Rotary Club for the annual competition, open to young people aged 4 to 18 from schools in Ely and the surrounding area.

The work was judged by a team of professionals and was on display in the gallery for all to view, giving the students some well-deserved publicity.

Lily graduated from King’s Ely Sixth Form last summer and, after taking a gap year, plans to study fashion and textiles at university.
