CONGRATULATIONS to King’s Ely Senior students, Aoife (left) and Anna Ost (right), who were Highly Commended in this year’s Year 9 Essay Competition, organised by The Perse.

The competition promotes independent study skills in Year 9 pupils while simultaneously providing an avenue to explore super-curricular interests in the arts, humanities and sciences. The competition is split into two categories (arts/humanities and sciences) – Anna was Highly Commended in the arts/humanities category and Aoife was Highly Commended in the science category.

Anna’s essay is entitled ‘Events are more important than People in History’ and Aoife’s essay is ‘What should we do to combat the rise In Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria?’

King’s Ely students Cyrus Alavi and Charlie Hall were also Commended in the competition.
