ESMERALDA Salgado, who is our Head of Modern Foreign Languages and Digital Learning Lead, enjoyed a celebratory afternoon tea aboard the Thames Luxury Charters’ ‘Dixie Queen’.
The event on the River Thames on June 29th was organised by the Pearson National Teaching Awards team as a way to bring this year’s Silver Award winners together. Esmeralda discovered in May that she had won Silver in the ‘Award for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School’ category.
Esmeralda and her husband, Chimmy, said the celebration was “brilliant” and an “honour to be at”.
We will find out in the autumn if Esmeralda has gone on to win a Gold Award. Some Gold Award winners are even being announced during a week-long celebration of education on BBC’s ‘The One Show’!
