OUR King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep pupils had a blast when they visited Wicken Fen Nature Reserve last term!

We are lucky to have our own wildlife pond and nature area in Acremont’s spacious garden, but it can’t compare with the National Trust’s 250-hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest, which is just a few miles down the road from us.

Children in Reception and Year 1 enjoyed minibeast hunting, pond dipping and learning how to enjoy nature using all of their senses, which included using an empty picture frame to hold up to find a special view of the fen.

Thank you to the education team at Wicken Fen for delivering such fun and energetic workshops – the children learnt so much and have been reminiscing about their visit ever since!
