“FOLLOWING the excitement of last week’s inspection, this week was all set to be a busy time whilst we settled back into more usual routines. Our expectations were realised thanks to the children’s enthusiasm for wearing their odd socks on Monday and their spotty accessories for BBC Children in Need yesterday.

“Add in assemblies – encouraging the children to call out bullying and work in united ways to keep the KEJ team strong – the community enjoyed a busy and energised week, including assessments for Year 7.

“That energy was also on display on the rugby field and the pitches this week. Our U13 boys secured super wins on the rugby fields and our girls demonstrated unity and endeavour on the hockey pitches too.

“In assemblies, we witnessed the drum-athon, masterminded by Owain Wyn Evans, which raised over three million pounds in twenty-four hours. The inspiring power of teamwork and mutual support was crystal clear.

“With best wishes to you all.”
