“After the significant events last weekend, we enjoyed a short, if wet, week pressing on with our targets for the term. For some of the children, this meant it was time for them to spend some time tackling their assessments, for others there were trips, and for some other children there was the KPL cricket competition to throw themselves into this Wednesday afternoon.

“Despite fixtures being cancelled due to the soggy ground, the fields have been full of children enjoying being in the sunshine (between showers) and making the most of the exceptional spaces we have for them to play in. Tomorrow will see us host another large Open Event for prospective children and their families. We are grateful to the Year 8 children who have indicated that they would be happy to join us and act as guides for the morning, and look forward to all they will add to the event.

“This week has been all about Service – Service as described by our King and then the Service we prize as a worthy personal quality and a part of school’s aspirations for all our children. During our gatherings in the Cathedral this week, I explained to the children across the Junior years that we will be launching a ‘Service Pledge’ for them to embrace from September. We are excited at the possibilities this will present the children with, and look forward to seeing our community further enriched by this initiative over the years ahead.

“We trust that, despite the changeable weather, you and the children will be able to enjoy a happy and restful weekend ahead.”
