“THE second week of term saw us settling back into a more usual pattern at school. Few surprises in terms of routines to learn and new procedures to embrace – other than the start of clubs and activities for the term, which were great to see underway. The sunshine blessed us with many opportunities to be outside and enjoy all the spaces we have here at school – long may this continue into the autumn!

“Most remarkable of all to me has been the way in which the children have adjusted to being a positive, often lively and charismatic community already. We have needed to remind some of them of the rules we follow when a large community comes together as one, there have been a few minor wrinkles and some testing of boundaries too but, for the majority, the recent past and our time apart is already feeling distant – this is so very heartening to observe and entirely “normal” – a word with new significance for us all. Against the backdrop of the ongoing complications in the world around us, the King’s Ely Junior bubble has enjoyed a splendid week and we are looking forward to more learning and laughter ahead.

“We wish you a healthy and calm weekend ahead of another busy week at school.”
