“OUR Senior Prizegiving Service today in Ely Cathedral provided an opportunity to celebrate many of the academic achievements of our pupils throughout this last year. It was a joy to have the whole of the Senior School community and many parents together to mark this important event. The Hoop Trundle that followed remains a fantastic tradition and certainly one of the more quirky events of the sporting calendar.

“I would like to particularly note the fantastic accolade for Esmeralda Salgado on her Silver Award in The Pearson National Teaching Awards. She is one of seven secondary teachers shortlisted for the National Teacher of the Award in a Secondary School. This final award will be decided in the Autumn.

“As pupils leave for half term, I wish them a thoroughly deserved break from the regular routine but am conscious that many will continue to keep their heads in their books as they study for their remaining exams. I wish them all the very best in this but encourage them to take breaks and to look after themselves.

“With my best wishes.”
