“WE are clearly looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday. With another change to our routine, I have been challenged in recent days to think about the habits I have adopted during lockdown: both the good and the bad. The pandemic will have led to a change in habits for many and the prefects will be reflecting upon this topic in assemblies next week.

“The business tycoon and philanthropist, Warren Buffett, comments that the “chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.” Whilst Aristotle is attributed with saying that “the habits we form from childhood make no small difference, but rather they make all the difference.”

“The return to school is the perfect opportunity to instil new habits. To finish with a third and final quote, “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” (John C. Maxwell)

“I will continue to work on my habits, and I look forward to challenges from the prefects in the days ahead.

“All the very best.”
