“Welcome back! I hope that you and your family have enjoyed a real rest over the Easter holidays, and feel rejuvenated and ready for a busy and exciting final term in the sunshine.

“It is the time in the quiet of the holidays when many ‘estates’ jobs are completed, and Acremont was overflowing with construction, design, scaffold, and IT teams as they began their prep work for the internal refurbishment of Acremont over the summer. It is very exciting and as you will well know, if you have embarked on house projects, a little daunting! However, we are supported by excellent contractors, and it will all look fresh, revitalised, and amazing by September! Holiday Club have enjoyed their time at Acremont once again over Easter, providing valued childcare during the longer holiday, and thank you to the cleaners who have worked hard to deep clean through the House and Nursery. Mr Thew has also been hard at work, cleaning down the school office fish tank. Chas, Dave and one-eyed Bruce have been re-homed at Mrs Lever’s house as we commit fully to a tropical fish tank and await the arrival of Mrs Jones’ baby guppies!

“I am pleased to announce that following interviews towards the end of last term, Mrs Nicholla Thornton will be joining our Reception year group as a teaching assistant in RSW. Mrs Thornton is no stranger to King’s Ely Acremont as she is a Nursery Two parent, and we warmly welcome her to our Teaching Team. The Nursery has been in full swing over these last three weeks, and the children have been enjoying the sunny weather and have made great use of the garden whilst the older children are away! Returning now for the final ten weeks of this academic year sounds incredible – where has the time gone? But actually, ten weeks is a wonderful amount of time to fit in so many memorable events and activities, top the topic work up to the brim for the year, and enjoy as much outdoor fun, play and learning as we can possibly squeeze in!

“Added to our calendar this year is of course the Coronation, and we intend not to let this historic event go by without the energy and excitement that an Acremont event is known for! Following a whole school assembly in the Cathedral on the morning of 5th May, we have planned for a Nursery and Pre Prep street party with dancing, singing, games, and just a few sweet treats for afternoon tea. I also hear that Ms Gervasio is gearing up to lead us on a special Coronation Conga around the garden as the finale to a day of togetherness and celebration!

“With my best wishes for a happy and restful weekend.”
