“AS we reach the final days of November and Advent beckons, the children have begun their preparations. I could be in no doubt of this as I walked into Mrs Black’s class this morning as pink glitter was sparkling on the tables and on some busy, sticky fingers! Carefully practising paint strokes and skills, Reception were decorating their baubles to assemble into a wonderful Advent Calendar. Our Christmas trees will appear around school and the Nursery next week, and Year 1 and 2 children will take part in a special Godly Play session, led by Dr Lane.

“With so much to look forward to at this time of year, I would very much like to thank the Nursery 2 parents and carers for attending our online information evening on Tuesday. It was super to see so many families and discuss this important time in the life of your children.

“Transition is also relevant to Year 2 families this week. Mr Whymark and the staff at King’s Ely Junior are looking forward to welcoming Year 2 parents to the scheduled zoom meeting on Wednesday evening. This meeting marks the start of the programme of events for Year 2 transition to KEJ and is closely followed by the Year 3 Activity Morning for Year 2 pupils, which will take place on Saturday 5th December.

“Thank you to all Pre-Prep parents who joined staff for our parent consultations on Wednesday evening. Discussing the achievements and progress of your children is important. It is a great time to share and celebrate, as well as provide an opportunity to understand next steps and the development of new skills and so cement the important relationship between school and home.

“I am very much looking forward to welcoming both Nursery staff and children back to Acremont on Monday. The deep clean is complete and I know there is much anticipation to be together again and launch into festive activities within the Nursery bubbles.

“With warm wishes for a restful weekend…”
