OUR Year 13 Textile Design students were in their element when they visited Norwich University of the Arts on September 16th.

The group enjoyed a ‘Material E-Objects’ workshop inspired by the artist, Grayson Perry and the exhibition, ‘The Vanity of Small Differences’.

Alison Rhodes, Director of Art at King’s Ely Senior, said: “Students combined E-Textiles with embroidery to create surfaces with LED lights to highlight the composition. They had an invaluable opportunity to work with two NUA Lecturers, Dr Lucy Robertson and Jenny Ross-Nevin, who congratulated them on their focus and determination.

“These experiences were complemented by lectures from degree course students about different career options and a tour of the Fashion and Textiles Studio at NUA. It was certainly an informative day and one that provided our students with many, many opportunities.”
