“WITH the end of term now in sight, may I take the opportunity to thank you for your support and encouragement throughout this term. The pupils and teachers have been remarkably stoic and patient in their adaptation to the restrictions and we look forward to 2021 with real optimism.

“These last few days have seen the final rehearsals for StrictELY, the Ely Scheme Challenge for Year 9, the continuation of the Vocal Festival and even some mock exams for Year 11. Support classes for Year 11 continue tomorrow morning in school.

“I would like to say a particular thank you and farewell to Martin Bray. As Assistant Director of Ely Scheme, he has worked tirelessly to support outdoor education and lead the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme. We are very grateful for all he has contributed and for the support of so many pupils over the last five years. We wish him all the very best for his new challenge in London. We look forward to welcoming his replacement, Tim Wyndham-Smith, in January.

“I wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year on Wednesday 6th January. All the very best…”
