Hettie to study Fashion Journalism and Content Creation at London College of Fashion

August 2025

Hettie will be studying Fashion Journalism and Content Creation at London College of Fashion after achieving the A-Level grades she needed.

Hettie joined King's Ely Senior in Year 9 from King's College School, Cambridge. She studied English Literature, Psychology, and Textiles at A-Level.

When asked what she plans to do career wise, Hettie said: "I plan on pursuing a career in Fashion Journalism, or something within the fashion/creative industry. My dream is to have my own magazine one day!"

Like so many King's students, Hettie relished in the co-curricular and leadership opportunities on offer at school, especially so in Sixth Form.

Hettie said: "Throughout my time at King's, I had the privilege of being a Sports Scholar. I was heavily involved with the Sports Department, playing 1st XI Hockey, Netball, and some Cricket! In Upper Sixth, I was appointed Head of Withburga House, which was honestly one of the best things that I have ever done. I feel I learned so much as a leader, trying my best to be a role model to the girls in House. I was also given the honour of being a School Prefect."

When asked to describe King's in three words, Hettie chose "creative, inclusive, industrious".

Hettie said: "King's is a very unique and special place. There is an atmosphere which embodies such a strong sense of comfort that it means you never really want to leave! There is a genuine desire for those around you to be successful. The teaching and relationships between pupils and teachers is unlike anything that I have ever known. Things that really helped me during my A-Level studies included Mr Quinn's Wednesday evening revision sessions for Psychology. Equally for Textiles, Saturday morning sessions were always extremely beneficial, along with being able to use the studio space during free periods so that I could keep up with coursework. For English Literature, I found trips to watch the texts we were studying very helpful, as learning visually often provides a more well-rounded understanding of the text - at least I found this anyway!"

When asked what she will miss most about King's, Hettie said: "I will miss literally everything! From the smallest things, such as seeing familiar faces as you walk around the campus, House Assemblies, the Common Room, and my lessons, to larger things such as House Song, Cathedral Services, and Open Days!"

Congratulations Hettie - enjoy London and keep in touch!
