Cole to study Engineering at University of Liverpool

August 2025

Cole will be studying Engineering at the University of Liverpool after achieving the A-Level grades he needed.

Cole joined King's Ely Prep as a boarder in Year 8. He studied Maths, Physics, and Product Design at A-Level.

When asked what he plans to do career wise, Cole said: "I do not know for sure, but I think that I would like to pursue some kind of career in aviation."

To describe King's in three words, Cole chose "knowledge, strength, integrity".

Cole boarded his entire time at King's - first in Priory House, then in School House from Years 9-11, and then in Hereward House in Years 12-13.

Cole said: "When I first arrived at King's, it did feel quite intimidating as I was so far away from home and I did not know anyone. However, I soon started to like it and I enjoyed all of the different House events that were organised. I particularly enjoyed boarding in Sixth Form, as living in school made studying so much more practical. I will miss my Housemasters, who were all very nice and supportive."

Describing the teaching and learning environment at King's, Cole said: "I really enjoyed the quality of teaching and the enthusiasm that all of my teachers had, especially when I was studying for my A-Levels."

Cole was a keen rower in Years 10-12, he was active in our outdoor education programme; Ely Scheme, and he achieved his Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Awards.

When asked how well supported he was pastorally at King's, Cole said: "I think that I was supported well. I was lucky enough to not feel the need to access official support, but I knew that it was there if I needed it. I thought that the teachers were approachable and understanding, which is all that I needed."

When asked what he will miss most about King's, Cole said: "I will miss the food, the Rowing coaches, and the teachers. I will also miss my friends and the after school social events that took place, such as the Christmas and Summer Balls, and the Old Palace Barbecues!"

Congratulations Cole - enjoy Liverpool and keep in touch!
