Xander will be studying Physics with Astrophysics at Lancaster University after achieving the A-Level grades he needed.
Xander joined King's Ely Acremont Pre-Prep in Year 2. He studied Maths, AS Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at A-Level.
When asked what he plans to do career wise, Xander said: "I do not have a set plan yet, but I might pursue academic research after my degree."
Describing the teaching and learning environment at King's, Xander said: "Teachers and staff cared about my achievements and my personal growth. I feel that they supported me and helped me to grow as an individual, and that my academic results were not the only aspect that they were supporting. I think that the attitude of the teachers and staff at King's is unique - the amount that they care about students on a personal level is what kept me going all the way through King's from Acremont Pre-Prep! During Sixth Form, I had an even more personal relationship with my teachers, which helped me to stay motivated and genuinely excited for each lesson."
Outside the classroom and laboratories, Xander was involved in our outdoor education programme, Ely Scheme, including being a Pupil Instructor when he was in Sixth Form, helping to mentor and support students in Year 9. Xander also participated in many of the different lunchtime and after school clubs that are on offer, including Chess Club when he was in Prep School.
When asked to describe King's in three words, Xander chose "Limitless opportunities available".
Xander said: "I will really miss the House spirit and school events the most; when the sun shines, we will shine together. All of my relationships with friends and teachers will be dearly missed too."
Congratulations Xander - enjoy Lancaster and keep in touch!
