Toby to study Business Marketing and Spanish at Aberystwyth University

August 2025

Toby will be studying a joint honours degree in Business Marketing and Spanish at Aberystwyth University after achieving the A-Level grades he needed.

Toby joined King's Ely Acremont Nursery in 2010. He studied Spanish, Biology, Physics, and Core Maths at A-Level.

When asked what he plans to do career wise, Toby said: "I plan on pursuing a career in international marketing management, using my studies in Marketing and Spanish to combine business skills with language and cultural knowledge to work across global markets. My degree is a four-year course, with one year studying in Madrid."

To describe King's in three words, Toby chose "fun, fulfilling, supportive".

When asked about the teaching and learning environment at King's, Toby said: "I always found the teaching at King’s to be immersive and engaging, enabling each student to contribute to the class, and creating a learning environment that benefits all. Teachers take time to truly get to know the students, which makes the learning seem personal and supportive, rather than distant or too formal. The support that my teachers gave me was very helpful, holding support classes tailored to the issues being faced. I felt that my teachers were not just instructors, but also supportive companions whom I could rely on for guidance and help whenever I needed it."

Outside the classroom, Toby played lots of Sport at King's, and was a member of our 1st XI Football Team.

Toby said: "I will miss the wide variety of Sports that King’s offers throughout the year. I enjoyed all the school trips throughout Prep School and Senior School, as well as the amazing socials organised for us in Sixth Form. I also contributed to the school’s music production club, attending weekly sessions."

When asked how well supported he was pastorally at King's, Toby said: "I always felt well supported at King’s, especially during times when I needed help the most. I felt my Housemasters and Tutors always had my back. For me, what sets King’s apart from other schools is the genuine relationships formed between staff and students."

Congratulations Toby - enjoy Aberystwyth and keep in touch!
