He has done it - King's Ely Prep pupil, Samuel, has been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2026 World Racketlon Team Championships!
In April, we reported that Samuel, who is in Year 8, could secure a spot at the World Champs, after he was victorious at the British Champs, held at The Parklangley Club in Beckenham during the Easter holidays.
UK Racketlon have now announced which players will be representing GB at the World Champs in Rotterdam in August, and we are thrilled that Samuel is one of only four boys selected to play in the Under 14s category!
Racketlon is the racket sport equivalent of the Decathlon in Athletics. Players compete against their opponents in all four of the main traditional racket sports: Table Tennis, Badminton, Squash, and Tennis. Each sport is played to 21 points, and the overall winner is determined by the highest aggregate score across all four sports. The sport originated in Finland and Sweden, and has been contested internationally since 2001.
Samuel's main sport is Squash, but he also represents King’s in Tennis, and he plays Table Tennis and Badminton.
Congratulations Samuel - an outstanding achievement and we cannot wait to hear how you and your teammates play at the World Champs!
