King's Ely Senior and Sixth Form has been awarded the Gold STEM Clubs Quality Mark!
The Quality Mark, coordinated by the National STEM Learning Centre at the University of York, recognises the calibre and impact of a school’s STEM enrichment provision.
The Gold award reflects the breadth and sustainability of our #STEMRich programme, including our regular clubs, competitions, interdisciplinary projects, Science Week, and outreach and engagement with the wider STEM community.
Awarding us Gold, assessors said: "King’s Ely #STEMRich demonstrates a strong and well-established STEM clubs and enrichment offer, with clear leadership, regular and sustained opportunities for students, and a broad range of engaging practical activities that support curriculum links, employability skills, careers awareness, and wider STEM engagement. The evidence shows particular strengths in student participation, opportunities to build confidence and enjoyment in STEM, and links with external partners and the wider community."
The Gold Quality Mark is valid for three years and is a collective achievement involving colleagues across our STEM Departments and the many students who contribute so enthusiastically to STEMRich activities.
STEM clubs and activities involved are STEMRich DaVinci, STEMRich Avicenna, STEMRich Turing, STEMRich Chemistry Olympiad Club, STEMRich Experimentalists, and STEMRich Environmentalists.
