Kerimkhan to study Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence at University of Bath

September 2025

Kerimkhan will be studying Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University of Bath after achieving the A-Level grades he needed.

Kerimkhan, who is from Kazakhstan, joined our international programme in Year 11. He completed his IGCSEs and stayed at King's for Sixth Form.

Kerimkhan studied Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, and Physics at A-Level. He aspires to be an AI Engineer or a Machine Learning Researcher.

Kerimkhan boarded in Hereward Hall, which he described as being "the best House ever!"

He said: "Mr Houlston and all of the Hereward staff were so supportive. They always went out of their way to allow us to have fun while still maintaining discipline. I joined King's in the Year 11 international programme, and settling in was really smooth. Teachers and staff understood that many of us would be unfamiliar with the British education system, and having students of lots of different nationalities around made it easy to feel included. I chose to stay at King's for Sixth Form because my tutors supported me to grow, both academically and personally, and I felt that staying would really help me to continue becoming a better person."

When asked to describe the teaching and learning environment at King's, Kerimkhan said: "My teachers were all really supportive and approachable. They explained things clearly, they pushed me to achieve, and I built strong relationships with them. I always felt like there was someone to turn to if I needed support, both academically and personally."

To describe King's in three words, Kerimkhan chose "supportive, ambitious, friendly".

He said: "I really enjoyed the social side of school life at King's too. I will miss the friendships I made and the overall friendly atmosphere. The social events were really memorable. I especially enjoyed Miss Franklin’s International Concerts, House Music, and the Sixth Form Socials, which always brought people together and created a great atmosphere. King’s is a school where you can achieve academically while also having a great experience socially."

Congratulations Kerimkhan - enjoy Bath and keep in touch!
