Jialun will be studying Law at the University of Birmingham after achieving the A-Level grades he needed.
Jialun, who is from Hong Kong, joined our international programme in Year 11. He stayed at King's for Sixth Form and studied Business Studies, Photography, and Chinese at A-Level. Jialun also studied AS-Level Maths and he completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
When asked what he plans to do career wise, Jialun said: "I plan on pursuing a career in Law. I am currently considering becoming a Solicitor or a Barrister."
To describe King's in three words, Jialun chose "progressive, persistent, powerful".
Jialun has been awarded Birmingham University's Head of College Excellence Scholarship.
When asked to describe the teaching and learning environment at King's, Jialun said: "The teaching at King's was incredibly supportive. Mr Longo was the best teacher for me. He was always supportive and frequently gave up his free time to help me. Mrs Franklin was another favourite. Despite her busy schedule, she spent a great deal of time helping me perfect my personal statement. She was also my supervisor for my EPQ. Finally, I want to thank my tutor, Mr Quinn, for supporting me with my University reference. King's offers a wide range of subject choices. The school is a great environment for students who are focused and know how they want to take advantage of all the opportunities provided."
Jialun boarded in Hereward House. He represented the school in Basketball throughout his time at King's, and in Year 12 he helped Mr Longo run the Prep School Photography Club.
When asked what he will miss most about King's, Jialun said: "I will miss my friends the most, especially Nathan and James. We did almost everything together, from having lunch and dinner to playing Basketball and hanging out in Cambridge. We were also able to use the school Sports Hall for an hour every night and for three hours on Sundays, which was fantastic!"
Congratulations Jialun - enjoy Birmingham and keep in touch!
