Our unique location in the historic cathedral city of Ely in rural Cambridgeshire is central to our identity. Set in the shadow of one of the most magnificent cathedrals in the world, the school provides a secure and beautiful suburban setting, allowing pupils freedom of movement in a friendly and open learning environment.

A five-minute walk takes you to the tranquil setting of the River Ouse and the King’s Ely Boathouse. From here, students enjoy and benefit from one of the best stretches of river in the UK, alongside rowers from Cambridge University.

The buildings in which we work and play, and where many of us live, represent the zenith of achievement in their time, allowing us to brush shoulders with the past and experience the awe-inspiring craftsmanship of previous centuries on a daily basis.

King’s Ely is situated just 15 minutes north of Cambridge and just over an hour from London by train. We are a short walk from Ely train station, which provides direct rail links to Cambridge, London, Peterborough and The Fens. School buses stop at key locations around Cambridgeshire.
