A GROUP of our Year 10 students had a fantastic time kayaking on the River Thames.

The Senior pupils’ base for the two-day weekend trip was Longridge Activity Centre in Marlow.

Tim Wyndham-Smith, our Assistant Director of Outdoor Education and DofE Manager, said: “There were a few nerves at first as this was the first time in a long time that many of us had been out on the water. However this feeling was soon replaced by the excitement and joy of being on the river.

“Kayaking down the famous Henley Straight was so peaceful and tranquil. The students were fantastic, with not one single capsize and smiles all round as we completed all three weirs. Well done to all the students for what was a very successful weekend.”

On the Saturday evening, students cooked spaghetti bolognaise and enjoyed a film with hot chocolate and popcorn!
