RED, white and blue were certainly the colours of the day as pupils at King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery and King’s Ely Junior went all out to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

The festivities on May 18th saw children at King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery dressing up in patriotic colours for the day, and many arrived at school sporting fancy hats and accessories.

Bright sunshine shone over the school garden as the children enjoyed a whole host of Royal-themed games and activities, including ‘Catch the Corgis’, ‘Harry, Harry, Meghan’, and ‘What’s the time Her Majesty?’. There was also a picnic lunch out in the garden, a visit from Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir, a cake sale and competition, and a parade of hats where prizes were awarded.

At King’s Ely Junior, a Harry and Meghan photo booth proved popular throughout the day, with both students and staff, and there were cake-baking competitions, Royal-themed poetry and a competition to create a commemorative paper plate fit for the occasion.
