BUDDING artists at King’s Ely Nursery were in their element showing their family and friends what masterpieces they had created.

The nursery, based at King’s Ely Acremont in Ely’s Egremont Street, held its first ever art exhibition on Saturday, June 10th. Around forty families – as well as the little ones themselves of course – attended the event to discover the main hall and areas of the playground had been transformed with a feast of colourful art displays.

The children took great pleasure in showing their guests the vibrant artwork they had created throughout the term, and there were art and craft workshops for the youngsters and their families to take part in, including pebble painting, mosaics, sand art and flower arranging.

In the lead up to the exhibition many of the nursery children also visited King’s Ely Junior to participate in fun-filled ‘buddy art workshops’ with some of the Year 6 pupils. The junior school students helped the nursery children to create wonderful masks from across the globe, which then went on show at the exhibition.

King’s Ely Nursery only started to accept children from the age of one just over a year ago but already the nursery has been extended to cater for an ever-growing demand from families.

The nursery prides itself on offering a superb early education rather than simple childcare. A dynamic curriculum based on self-discovery and learning through play, teamed with caring, experienced staff and an exciting, spacious and homely setting provide children with the perfect start to their education.
