VICTORIA Davis won the Jean Collins Salver at the Cambridge Music Festival finals at St Faith’s School in Cambridge.

The Year 6 flautist received the award for the best brass or woodwind player under the age of 15.

“Victoria was one of the youngest competitors in her class, so this was a wonderful achievement,” said tutor Liz Hargest.

Liz currently teaches 24 flautists at the school, including three children from Acremont who are all under six years old. She also runs two flute choirs at King’s Ely Junior, which perform the majority of their pieces from memory.
