KING’S Ely Junior’s Katie Cameron (age 11) has qualified for the National Championships after a win at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Showjumping event, held at the College of West Anglia in Milton, Cambridge on Saturday (1).

Only winners of each class at 70, 80 and 90cms go forward to represent the schools in Cambridgeshire at the National Championships, which will take place at Bury Farm in Buckinghamshire in April.

Riding Maylands Delight, Katie

won the County Qualifier class of 80cms, narrowly missing out on qualification in the 90cms class, coming second. King’s Ely posted teams in the earlier classes, resulting in individual placings for Louis (age 11) and Emily Gredley (age 10). More placings came in the 1 metre and 1 metre 10 class, courtesy of Paige Collier (age 14).

Trainer of the King’s Ely Equestrian Team, Susan Cameron, commented: “King’s Ely was represented in all classes at this event, which, with a small team of riders of varying age and ability, is quite an achievement. They continue to go from strength to strength and look forward to more success in the near future.”
