KING’S Ely rowers were in unbeatable form at J14 and J13 at the Cambridge Head which attracted entries from all over the region on Saturday.

Freddie Scott and Edmund Dickens were racing up a year at J14 level and beat all the other Year 8s and 9s who came fromfrom all over the eastern region to win the J14 doubles.

Eve Noble and Christine Fialova also proved to be another winning pairing in the J13 doubles. Over the final 500 metres they battled hard to see off strong competition from the other King’s Ely double of Isla Taylor and Isabelle Parris.

There was a second win for Freddie Scott and Edmund Dickens when they teamed up with Tom Oldham, Kai Wigdahl and Sabina Ray to win the J13 quads – crossing the line 55 seconds ahead of the rest.

Eve Noble and Christina Fialova also notched up a second success, rowing with Isla Taylor, Isabelle Parris and Harriet Parris to win the girls’ J13 quad by five seconds.

“It was a fantastic day. Everyone gave of their best and raced hard,” said James Robinson, King’s Ely Head of Rowing.
