FANCY frocks and dickie bows were in abundance at King’s Ely’s annual Sixth Form Christmas Ball.

More than 100 sixth form students dressed to impress for the glitzy event, which was staged inside King’s Ely’s stunning Monastic Barn and, as ever, was raising much-needed funds for charity.

The ball has raised more than £40,000 for different charities in the 12 years that it has been running and this year’s sparkling event looks set to raise around £2,500.

Each house chooses a different beneficiary to support and this year Help for Heroes, Ely Foodbank, Macmillan Cancer Support, Dementia UK, MIND, Tom’s Trust, Edlumino and Crohn’s and Colitis UK will get a share of the proceeds raised.

As ever, King’s Ely’s catering team volunteered their services for the evening.
