We were delighted to host members of Shrewsbury School Boat Club at King’s Ely last week.

Thirty-seven Rowing students and six Rowing Coaches from Shrewsbury stayed with us for their training camp from October 24th-28th.

Athol Hundermark, Director of Rowing at Shrewsbury, said: “King’s Ely provided a perfect venue for food and accommodation for our training camp. The use of the boarding house common room worked well for crew chats and relaxation time for the rowers.

“The food was excellent, both in terms of quantity and quality for hungry rowers. The Boathouse was a ten-minute walk or short jog from the school, so made transport easy.

“The stretch of water at Ely is fantastic, with endless miles of uninterrupted straights to get the training in. We had a highly productive training camp and we are hugely grateful for all the support the School and Boat Club offered us.”
