Fifty-six of our Senior students have enjoyed Rowing Training Camps at The King’s School, Canterbury this Easter break!

Two training camps were organised – one for Rowers in Years 9 and 10, and another for students in Years 11 to 13.

Craig Ward, our Head of Rowing, said: “The Year 9s and 10s had a fantastic time developing their skills in small boats, as well as crew boats, to build up to the National Schools’ Regatta. The students’ attitudes were all fantastic – they were keen to get the most out of each session, and as a result, they made a lot of progress throughout the week.

“The end of the Years 9 and 10 camp immediately rolled into our Years 11-13 camp! The Senior squads spent the first few days in singles and doubles, re-building solid movement patterns, before moving into quads and doubles, which will be raced this summer. Three sessions a day saw everybody make remarkable progress, and by the end of the week it was evident with some quick on-water times and good techniques.

“A massive thank you to Miss Bradbury and Mr Ruta for helping on the Years 9 and 10 camp, and to Mr Sellers and Mr Foster who completed a marathon 11-day stint on both of the camps!”
