Look at the wonderful Remembrance candle votives that students have created in ‘Cultural Crafts Club’ this week!

This after school club is led by Eleanor Herring, our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, to increase learning and awareness about different cultures and commemorations around the world through simple arts and crafts.

To honour those who have lost their lives in battle, students made Remembrance candle votives by decorating recycled glass jars to depict the poppies which grew on the battlefields after World War One ended.

Students in Years 9 to 13 attended this week’s session, not forgetting a Year 3 pupil, who attended with her older sister! The club takes place every Tuesday during term time and is supported by our ‘King’s Unity Group’.

King’s Ely Acremont Nursery and Pre-Prep will be paying their respects at their Remembrance Service in Acremont’s Garden tomorrow (November 11th).

King’s Ely Junior and King’s Ely Senior will be coming together for their Remembrance Service at Ely Cathedral tomorrow (November 11th) at 10.30am. Families are welcome to attend this service!
