Thousands of people pounded the streets of Cambridge on March 5th by taking part in the TTP Cambridge Half Marathon.

Among them were several members of King’s Ely Staff – some of whom donned their running shoes to put their stamina to the test, some to raise money for charities, and some doing so for the pure fun of it.

Joanna Coldrick, one of our Nursery Practitioners, completed the route in just under 2 hours, and took part as a personal challenge.

Jane Thomas, our Vice Principal Academic, crossed the finish line in 2 hours and 10 minutes. It was Jane’s first half marathon in over 20 years and she was raising money for the British Red Cross Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.

Colin Currie, Head of History at King’s Ely Senior, completed the course in 1 hour, 24 minutes and 41 seconds. Yes, he is an avid runner!

Helen Melville, Teacher of Geography, took part in preparation for her Half Ironman in May. Helen crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 56 minutes and 26 seconds.

Jeremy Thew, Custodian at King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery, finished in 2 hours and 26 minutes. It was his third time completing the Cambridge Half Marathon.

Georgina Thorpe, Teacher of English, crossed the finish line in 2 hours, 3 minutes and 29 seconds. This was her best half marathon time by 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Other staff members who took part included James Foster, Phil Curtis, Silvia Paricio Torrijos, Claire Kyndt, and Carly Juneau.

Well done everyone!
