Building on the knowledge and skills developed in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 presents new challenges through a vibrant, creative curriculum. Independence and ‘having a go’ are encouraged, and individuality is nurtured in a supportive environment. Recent highlights in Year 1 include a Bhangra and Bollywood Dance workshop, an immersive role-playing Pirates Day, and an expedition to the Sea Life Centre and the seaside. Children learn French, Games and Music with specialist teachers. They regularly use computers and iPads to record and present their work in creative ways.
