King’s Ely Acremont Nursery is housed on two floors of a beautiful listed house. Different rooms are furnished to take into account the children’s age and stage of development. Children join us from the age of two (usually September after their second birthday), where they join Nursery One. Children move at the start of the next academic year, to join Nursery Two for their pre-school year. Qualified and experienced staff care for the children and a variety of different sessions are available, including a half day, a full day and an extended day option (08:00 until 18:00).

Learning comes through play, experimentation, investigation and discussion, with Mathematics, Phonics and Literacy being learned through activities with our three and four year olds. Different themes are explored, always starting from the children’s own experiences and interests. Everyone’s contribution is valued as the children travel on their voyage of discovery. With gentle guidance, the children learn to order their thinking, to be observant and creative, to question, evaluate and be bold. During the day, children enjoy activities such as Baby Yoga, Spanish, Music and Singing, Dance, Cookery, Art and Science and Nature.

The Nursery has a Garden Day each week, when the children come dressed in tracksuits and wellingtons ready for a day in the garden, planting, tending and harvesting in the vegetable patch, hunting for mini-beasts and developing physical, literacy, numeracy and creative skills in an exciting outdoor environment.

An interactive online learning journey allows parents to view photographs, videos and observations of their child on a secure website.
